The gift card is preloaded with a set amount and is valid at selected retailers. It is different from the Swile card and features a specific message: "You deserve a treat"; "Congratulations"; "Season’s Greetings"; "Merry Christmas"; "To satisfy your thirst for culture".
Your card must be activated beforehand by the person who gave it to you. In this case, we recommend registering it in your Swile account to enjoy all the benefits:
- See all partner retailers and access new retailers available exclusively as e-vouchers,
- Benefit from the card blocking service in case your card is lost or stolen
- Take advantage of CADO & Co offers (discounts, perks, etc.)
- Receive your card balance by SMS for free after every transaction
- Manage your card (check your balance, track transactions, access a wider network of retailers, etc.)
To register your gift card to your account:
- Log in to your account, or create one if you haven’t already
-
Then go to your account, select “My cards” and click on “Add a card”. You’ll then need to enter:
- The 19-digit ID code starting with 605 found on the back of your card (under the barcode)
- The last 8 digits of your card number, which starts with 498 355. These are located on the back of your card, at the very bottom.
Here’s how to check your card balance:
- On our website: after creating an account, you can view your card balance and recent transactions. Simply log in with your email address and password.
- By phone: call the Interactive Voice Server on 01 77 86 21 21 (local call rate)
- By contacting our customer service via the contact form on our website cadostore.com, by clicking on “Individual”, then “Manage my CADO Store account” and “Check my balance”
Tip : check your balance before making a purchase so you know how much is available on your card and can pay at the till with peace of mind.
To find out which shops accept your gift card, we invite you to use our store locator service at www.cadostore.com
Before visiting a partner retailer, we recommend checking that the specific shop is indeed a partner. Sometimes, certain outlets (franchises) of partner brands may not accept our gift cards.
Some retailers also set specific exclusions (for example, not valid for Shows). Any special acceptance conditions, where applicable, are shown on our website.
You can use your card on 180 websites. When shopping on a partner website, at checkout, select the payment page by clicking on the VISA or CADO Card logo. Just like a bank card, enter your card number (16 digits), expiry date, and security code (3 digits) found on the back of your card.
On some partner sites, you can pay part of the amount with your regular bank card.
Important : In line with new regulations, online payments made with an electronic money card are now limited to €50. To check if your card is an electronic money card, look on the back for the statement “PAIEMENT LIMITE A 50€ SUR INTERNET”. If this is not shown, your card is not affected by this regulation.
Our tip : Always keep your card after shopping online, even if it’s empty. If you return your purchases, the e-retailer will refund your card.
To make checkout easier and avoid declined transactions, it’s best to tell the cashier the amount you want to pay with your card. For this, we recommend checking your balance. This will help you avoid any unnecessary stress.
If you cancel your order or return an item, the e-retailer will refund your CADO Card. That’s why we recommend you always keep your card after shopping online, even if the balance is zero.
There are several possible reasons for this:
- In some shops, staff may change frequently; new staff may not have been trained or informed.
- The shop is no longer a partner and we haven’t yet removed it from our list. Although we act quickly, there may be a short delay between receiving the information and updating our lists.
Please contact us to let us know about this refusal, as it’s important for us to act quickly, either to contact the retailer or update our list.
- Username: Your username is the email address you used when creating your account. If you’ve lost your username, you can contact our customer service via our contact form (choose: Individual / Manage my gift card account / Account access).
- Password: You can request a new password by clicking on “My account” then “Forgotten password”.
Your email address can’t be changed online. You can request a change via our contact form.
If you’ve lost your gift card or it’s been stolen, you can block it online (24/7) by logging into your Swile account.
If your card has more than €11 loaded at the time you block it, and there are at least 10 working days left before it expires, we can reissue a new card with the remaining balance.
A fixed fee of €10 (including postage) will be deducted from the balance of the lost or stolen card when it is blocked.
First, check the following:
- Is your card activated? Log in to your Swile account to check its status, or activate it by following the steps above.
- Is your card loaded? Log in to your Swile account and check the available balance. If it’s “€0”, please contact our customer service by filling in the contact form and clicking on “Individual”, then “Product use” and “Usage issue”
- Did your card have enough balance when you tried to make a purchase? Check your available balance in your Swile account or by phone on 01 77 86 21 21 (local call rate).
- Has your card expired? The expiry date (month/year) is printed on the back of your card.
- Is the shop where you tried to use your card definitely a partner for your card? To check if the retailer is a partner, go to the “Where to spend” section.
If you still can’t work out why your card isn’t working after these checks, please contact us.
