What are the different types of SNCF cards?

🚆 SNCF offers several loyalty cards and subscriptions, each tailored to different needs (frequent travel, leisure, young people, business).

🧐 What’s the difference between SNCF loyalty cards and subscriptions?

It's important to distinguish between the loyalty cards and subscriptions offered by SNCF:

  • Loyalty card: Free of charge, the loyalty card lets you collect points with every journey (TGV INOUI, Intercités, certain partners). These points give you access to benefits such as upgrades, entry to Grand Voyageur lounges, and priority services.

  • Subscription (or discount card): Paid for, the subscription gives you discounts on tickets (TGV INOUI, Intercités, TER depending on the region). Valid for 1 year.

📋 What loyalty cards are available?

The following loyalty cards are available:

  • Grand Voyageur

  • Grand Voyageur Plus

  • Grand Voyageur Le Club

📌 You can find all the information about these cards on the SNCF website.

🇫🇷 What national subscription cards are available?

The following subscription cards are available at national level:

  • Carte Liberté

  • Carte Avantage (available for Young People / Adults / Seniors)

👉 For TER trains, each region offers its own subscriptions: check your regional SNCF website.

👨‍💻 How do I use a loyalty card when booking?

To use your loyalty card and/or subscription when booking:

  1. Add your loyalty card and subscription to your profile. They’ll be applied automatically when you search. For more information, see: How do I add a loyalty card, traveller programme, or subscription?

  2. Search for and select your chosen journey.

  3. Check that the fare linked to your subscription is applied (e.g. Liberté fare). If you’ve already added your loyalty card to your profile, it will be automatically taken into account.
