This article explains the different rules for the allocation and use of meal vouchers.

👨 Who is eligible for meal vouchers?

Your trainees, temporary workers, or employees can benefit from meal vouchers. For more information, see: Who is eligible for meal vouchers?

💰 What value should you set for your employees' meal vouchers?

You are free to set the value of the meal vouchers as you wish, but to be exempt from Social Security contributions, the employer's contribution must meet these two limits:

  • It must be between 50 and 60% of the voucher value.

  • It must not exceed €7.32 (from 1 January 2026).

For more information, see: Face value: What are the exemption conditions?

📆 When should you credit your beneficiaries?

You are free to choose the management and organisation you prefer, however, we recommend loading at the end of the month. For more information, see: How to calculate the number of meal vouchers to credit for my employees?

🍕 What are the rules for using meal vouchers?

Meal vouchers can be used Monday to Saturday, at any time, up to a limit of €25 per day, in establishments with a CNTR (National Commission for Meal Vouchers) approval. There is no minimum spend required (except that set by the retailer). If your beneficiaries work on Sundays and public holidays, simply configure this option.

For more information, see our section dedicated to users

⏳ What is the validity of meal vouchers?

By default, Swile meal vouchers are automatically carried over from month to month and year to year. They do not expire. For more information, see: Validity period of meal vouchers (automatic carryover)
