This article explains how to book train tickets from your Swile Travel account 🚅
📌 Prerequisite: make sure to add your travel cards/subscriptions and/or loyalty programmes before making a booking. To find out more, see: How do I add a loyalty card, frequent traveller programme, or subscription?
- Select whether you want a one-way or return ticket

After selecting your outbound and return journeys:
- Enter your travel dates. To do this, click on DD/MM/YYYY next to the small calendar icon to bring up the calendar.
- Select the desired day and then the time for both outbound and return journeys from the same calendar.
- Add the passenger(s) by clicking in the "Who's going?" field and typing the first few letters of each passenger's first or last name.
Once you've completed these first steps, you can now click on Search. You'll be taken to the train booking page.
To select a train, click on the displayed price, either for 2nd or 1st class. You can't mix classes for different travellers: if you want 2nd class for one passenger and 1st class for another, you'll need to make separate bookings.
You can also browse the list by clicking on previous journeys or next journeys to see other times available that day.
On the right, you'll see a summary of your selected outbound journey: price per passenger, route, date and time, fare conditions—everything you need 🙌
On the left, in the grey box, you can sort your journeys by fare (Eco, Semi-Flex and Flex) or by number of connections (direct train, or with one or more changes).
- The Eco option shows the cheapest tickets. These are usually non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
- The Semi-flex option excludes all non-exchangeable tickets.
- The Flex option only shows tickets that are fully exchangeable and refundable with no fees. If you have a Liberté Card, select the Flex option.
If you're happy with your train choice, click Confirm outbound at the top right (see video in the next step 👇).
If you have a return journey, follow the same steps as for the outbound trip, then click Confirm return.
Now it's time to choose your seats. Please note, this is just a seating preference and we have no control over the final allocation. When you book, the SNCF algorithm will assign seats, taking your preferences into account as much as possible.
Select your preferred seats from the drop-down menus, then click Confirm this choice. You can also choose not to select a specific seat and tick Skip this step
You'll then arrive at a summary page showing all the details you entered during your booking search.
⚠️ When booking a train ticket, an option is automatically placed once you've chosen your seats. This is only valid for a limited time, so don't delay in confirming or getting your booking approved.
We have no control over how long this option lasts. This is a decision made by SNCF.
So, if you're sure about your train choices, fill in all the required fields: reason for travel, billing entity, and payment method. Click Confirm and pay. That's it! 🙂
