Is it possible to choose your seat when booking a train?

When searching for a train, after selecting your train(s), you'll arrive at the seat selection page. On this page, you can:

  • Enter your seating preferences
  • Request to travel next to a colleague
  • Choose your seat on the train (Service only available in 1st class and for SNCF or Lyria TGVs)

Click below on what you wish to do to find out how to proceed 👇

   💺 Choose your seating preferences
This step allows you to associate your seat preferences with your booking, and the SNCF seat allocation system will take them into account. However, depending on the popularity of the chosen train, it is not guaranteed that SNCF can fully meet your request.
👥 Travel next to a colleague
  • Tick the box Travel next to a colleague
  • Enter the carriage number and seat number of a colleague who has already booked their ticket on this train.

The SNCF seat allocation system will try to assign you a seat as close as possible to the specified seat. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that SNCF will be able to fulfil your request 👇

🚄 Choose your seat according to the train plan

This option is only available in 1st class, and only on SNCF and Lyria TGVs.
To do this, click on Choose my seat on the train plan. A panel will open with the train plan:

  • Seats in green: seats still available

  • Seats in grey: seats not available
  • Seat in blue: the one you have selected

As with SNCF Connect, it is not possible to choose a seat facing the direction of travel.
