This article explains the different rules for awarding and using luncheon vouchers.

👨 Who benefits from meal vouchers?

💰 What value should you set for your employees' meal vouchers?

You are free to determine the value of the meal vouchers you want, but to be exempt from Social Security contributions, the employer's contribution must comply with two limits:

  • It must be between 50% and 60% of the value of the voucher.
  • It must not exceed €7.18 (as at 1ᵉʳ January 2024).

To find out more, see : Face value: What are the conditions for exemption?

📆 When should you credit your beneficiaries?

You are free to choose how you want to manage and organise your vouchers, but we recommend that you load them at the end of the month. To find out more, see: How do I calculate the number of meal vouchers to credit to my employees?

🍕 What are the rules for using meal vouchers?

Restaurant vouchers can be used from Monday to Saturday, at any time, up to a limit of €25 per day, in establishments affiliated to the CNTR (Commission Nationale des Titres Restaurant). There is no minimum spending requirement (apart from that of the shopkeeper). If your beneficiaries work on Sundays and public holidays, simply configure this option.

⏳ How long are meal vouchers valid?

By default, Swile meal vouchers are automatically carried forward from month to month and year to year. They do not expire. To find out more, see : Length of validity of meal vouchers (automatic carry-over)
