To find out how to recycle their card, your recipients can visit our help page: How do I recycle my Swile card and its packaging?
Below, we answer all the questions you might have as an administrator 😊
We've analysed the environmental impact of recycling to set sensible minimum numbers of cards to recycle for each collection method.
- Between 1 and 49 cards to recycle, and for remote workers: We recommend sending cards individually using the freepost service.
- Between 50 and 199 cards to recycle: It's best to send them together in a Decomatic envelope.
- More than 200 cards to recycle: The best option is to send them together using our recycling box.
Here's how each method works in detail! 👇
👉 Who is this method for?
- Sites where fewer than 49 recipients have a card that's about to expire
- Recipients working remotely
👉 How does it work?
Your recipients write the following address on a standard envelope, with no need for a stamp. You can put up to 3 cards in the envelope (no more, or the letter will be returned to you!)

The letter will be sent directly to our recycling partner, who will then give the card a new lease of life!
👉 Who is this method for?
- Sites with between 50 and 199 recipients who have a card that's expiring (expiry, switching from Bimpli to Swile, etc.)
👉 How does it work?
As an administrator:
- Step 1: You can contact your Swile account manager directly. They'll explain the steps to follow and send you the envelope. You can download a poster here to personalise with your details and share with the relevant recipients.
- Step 2: Collect the cards from the relevant recipients.
- Step 3: Once the collection is finished, simply hand the sealed envelope to your postman or Chronopost courier (if you use this service). We'll take care of the rest.
The envelope will be sent directly to our recycling partner, who will then give these cards a new lease of life!
💡 Good to know: Sending cards together in a Decomatic envelope is more environmentally friendly than sending them individually once you have 24 or more cards. Below this number, group sending uses more resources than individual sending. That's why we've set the minimum at 50 recipients, to avoid dropping below 24 cards collected.

👉 How does it work?
- Step 1: You can contact your Swile account manager directly. They'll send you a recycling kit with instructions. You can download a poster here to share with your recipients.
- Step 2: We recommend leaving the box out for about 3 months (adjust as needed, for example if another batch of expired cards comes in after 4 months, leave it out a few weeks longer).

💡 Good to know: Sending cards together using the recycling box is more environmentally friendly than sending them individually once you have 45 or more cards. Below this number, the box uses more resources than individual sending. That's why we've set the minimum at 200 recipients, to avoid dropping below 45 cards collected.
