What to do if the hotel asks you to pay on site?

All bookings made on Swile Travel are prepaid. At the time of booking, the hotel receives the payment card linked to your reservation. The only charges you may need to pay are local taxes and any extras you use during your stay.

Sometimes, reception may not have registered our payment. In this case, they may ask you to pay on the spot. Don’t worry, here’s what to do:

👉 If you have a bank card on your booking confirmation page:

Show the card to the hotel staff and ask them to charge it. If they say the payment has been declined, it’s possible they’ve only made a pre-authorisation on the card. Ask them to release the hold and try the payment again.

👉 If you don’t have a bank card on your booking confirmation page:

If there’s no card, it means our provider has already made the payment. Ask the hotel staff to check their intranet to see if they’ve received the funds.

⛔️ The hotel is still asking you to pay on the spot?

If, despite this, the hotel staff still ask you to pay on the spot, contact us on our dedicated emergency line at (+33)0184803880, available 24/7.

Please note, don’t confuse this with a request for a deposit. Some hotels may ask for a deposit when you arrive. For this, you’ll need to use your own card, but it’s only as a guarantee.
